Our Work

From home garden systems to perennial and native plant gardens to food forests for soil to table dinner experiences.

Cottonwood Market Garden

Residential Client
Cottonwood | Leelanau County, Michigan

This garden was once a field of sandy soils and invasive plants and now produces an abundance of fruit, veggies, flowers, and herbs throughout the growing season. Using dense plantings, polyculture, and no-till methods, the soil has improved from lifeless to holding plenty of water and reciprocating the care it has been given in abundant harvests.

The design included a composting system, water collection, repurposed path system, perennial fruits, and implementation of chickens for fertility. It also was designed to intentionally meet all requirements for a Certified Wildlife Habitat from the National Wildlife Federation.

Allium Hill

Commercial Client
Allium Hill | Leelanau County, Michigan

This upcoming project for a food-focused farm stay will be one of our most exciting projects in 2024 and beyond. The design implements native plants, a food forest, wildflower fields, keystone tree plantings, and garden beds full of flowers and herbs to inspire guests and more on premises.

Airloom Cottage

Consult Client

Airloom Cottage | Leelanau County, Michigan

This adorable cottage, which is an Airbnb property in the Lime Lake area of Leelanau County, needed some revisioning of its landscape to create both the aesthetic of the homeowners and require less maintenance since it was being rented out most of the growing season. We came on site and helped them create a list of plants and placement to border a new eating area that brought in plenty of diversity, perennial plants, and native plants that would withstand lower maintenance but still create the traditional cottage feeling they wanted.
